Unknown caterpillar - plz help to ID!

Hello,
Today I've been in the forest. Have took a photo of this nice critter.
Location: SE. European Russia, Saratov Region.
Biotope: mixed deciduous forest, (with Oaks (Quercus) and Birches (Betula) as co-dominants).
Size: ca. 3cm.
I guess it could be some Lymantriidae or Arctiidae...
TIA for help,

Alexei

Many thanks!
I am not familiar with the cat-s of Acronicta with the exception of A. aceris, which I reared in the past on some occasions :)

Best regards,
Alexei
