I will make a better photo of the butterfly, because on this photo the body doesn't look very good.

Hello
Perhaps the body doesen't look very good, because it is artificial. The wings are from some nymphalid. A picture of the underside would be more helpful than a larger picture of the upside.
Greetings Christoph

Hi Cristoph,

The body is not artificial, it's real but very old (it's a butterfly out of a collecting made in 1885) and turned white by a unknown reason.
I can't make a photo of the underside 'cause it's glued and I don't think it's wise to try to make him separated from the paper. Because as you can see I tried it a time ago, and I dameged the left wing :(

Greetings wessel herrewijnen

as you can see, on the body is something like mold, it's dry but the mold is still stucking on the body.
The mold is woolly and a bit blue and white.

Das ist doch eine völlig falsch restaurierte Nymphalide. Der Körper ist kein Original und der rechte Fühler ist auch ersetzt worden (Borste).
Zu sehen ist hier doch eindeutig die Unterseite.
Gruß Michael

I think it's right that the body isn't original, You can see the glue on the wings. The butterfly is a part of a large collection in a big
showcase which is difficult to open. So it's hard to see how he really looks. This butterfly is not preperaded by the same man which prepared the others. He's placed in a weird corner of the showcase and the other butterflys have got all a 'nameplate' and this one not.

But does nobody know the name??
