The butterfly looks a bit like a Mesapamea species, but I'm not sure, the pictures aren't very clear... Are the caterpillar and the butterfly the same species??

sorry for the bad quality photos.
the caterpillar is still in the cocoon, the moth is another,
I picked up here in the garden, the moth was released after taking pictures

Hallo Guilherme,
the caterpillar was a Pieris sp. . The quality of the foto doesn´t enough to qualify the species (P. napi, P. rapae or P. mannii).

@ klaus-Bernhard: A pieris sp?? I don't think, Pieris caterpillars seems to be lesser fat... (also when they're pre-pupae)

Hi!

I´m sure, that it is a Pieris sp.
I think it is Pieris rapae or Pieris napi.

How big was the caterpillar or the pupae? Do you have pictures of the pupae?
