Can Antheraea Replacing Bombyx mori??

    I want to know Are Anthereaea Can replacing Bombyx Mori?? for producing Silk??
    if can What species Of Anthereaea That Produce The Best Of the Best Silk??

    But if no are there any Species Of moth Can Replacing Bombyx Mori??

    No! Not really. The silk Antherea is producing, is of less good quality. They produce silk and you can use this silk for textiles, but no other species than Bombyx mori is producing silk which is only in clear colour (other species contaminate parts of their silk with other materials so its not clear anymore) and no other species produces a threads of that length (Bombyx mori up to 3.000 m in one, all the others normaly less than 3 m, mostly just of some cm).

    so it depends on what you're planing. If you want to produce silk for commercial things you'd better take Bombyx mori. You get much more money, because of its better quality.
