Argema mittrei on Pistacia lentiscus

Hi, i'm breeding Argema mittrei on Pistacia lentiscus, the caterpillars hatched 3 days ago and now they are eating P. lentiscus very well.

The temperature is around 19C°

I keep 5 caterpillars in each Petri dish, soon I will put them in a bigger box

Unfortunately a lot of caterpillars died during the first instar, now I have only 2 caterpillars at the second instar.

I don't think that P. lentiscus is a good host plant for this moth, I will try again to breed this beautiful moth in the spring with Liquidambar and Cotinus
