Lasiocampa trifolii?

can you please help me identify this beast? Is it trifolii?

Locality data: Armenia, Dilijan, 1800m

das ist Lasiocampa quercus vassilinini (Sheljuzhko 1943) - Puppe überwintert (braucht dann Frost)

Hallo Manfred,

Ich wärm diese Bestimmung noch mal auf.

Ohne deine gute Kenntnis infrage zu stellen, wäre ich hier immer noch eher bei trifolii.

Rechts am Kopf sieht man einen orangenen Fleck, eigentlich doch sehr typisch füre eine Kleespinner Raupe.

Alle in der Türkei gefunden Raupen von L. trifoli hatten einen "Gelbstich" - Raupen von L. quercus v. aus der Türkei und

Armenien sahen aus wie auf dem Foto.

Aus dieser Höhenlage habe ich bisher keine L. trifoli gesehen.

Aber nichts ist unmöglich.

took me some time to mount/take of the board the resulting specimen.

Isn't this L.trifolii?

You and the others are right - it is a male of L. trifolii.

L. quercus and all the other Lasiocampa of this region have different optic.
