Last week I found a nest of caterpillars in Macedonia on oak. They had not spun a nest, but ate simultaniously all next to eachother. I thought E. chrysorrhoea, but I am not sure becauise there was no nest.
Is the first photo Argynnis paphia f. valesina? Is it male or female?
Is this Euproctis chrsorrhoea? Is the butterfly Argynnis paphia forma valesina?

Hello Paul,
the first picture is without a doubt a male of Argynnis pandora. As you can see at your picture, this specimen has only 2 lines of fragrance scales on the forewings, not 3 lines as A. paphia. Besides your specimen has a more greenish colour, so it´s a male of A. pandora.
Regards
Thomas
