I have now eggs of this moth, so I have one question. Do larvas eat rather older branches or the youngest ??

IMHO it doesn't matter, as I reared my caerpillars in Summer and Autumn, I was giving them younger - pale green - branches. Watch out for resin, small insects and spiders that hide among the needles and may be harmful for little larvae.
