Try with the monarch butterfly, they take only 14 days as a larvae ant the pupae may take from 5 to 10 days to hatch, the eggs hatch on 2 or 3 days. They eat a lot asclepias, but you may found Araujia sercifera or Cynanchum acutum where you live, try to search with the inaturalist app. They go so fast if they are like at 20 degrees or more.

They don't like being cold, it's better 25ºCelsius more or less, and about keeping them dark, I can't tell you.

Eucalyptus will work better than Ligustrum. Keep the larvae in a big box (50L) with a little ventilation (a hole covered with mess) and humid (a humid paper towel in the floor of the box).
