Hi guys.

I found a bunch of caterpillars of these species in my garden ( I have ID them as Autographa Gamma ). Do you know to keep the adults properly ( how to feed them and so ) ?

As said. New pics. I hope these ones help to reveal 😜

Yup.It looks pretty nice so I watched a video in YouTube where a man talks about how to keep them. And so do I xd.

After having a deep look on that list of European flower chafers I am pretty sure is C. Aurata.

I tried to feed it with an apple and It worked very well. I'll try to take more pics of it when I am free. I didn't expect all this help. Thank you!

Thanks for both answers!

I searched " cetonia" in google. And in fact it looks very like these beetles.

It also looks very similar in shape to the one of finnk's collection. But the color is not so green. More like gold.

Cetonia aurata is the most likely to be.

Hello guys. This pretty thing arrived to my garden today. May ID it ?

Thanks 🙏🏻

Hello people.

I was just wondering if you may recommend me the book of mantis you consider is the best one in your opinion. I have some books but they have limited information. I'm looking for a higher level.

Thanks.

Very interesting Thomas! I'll try that.

Thank you very much for your help Prem. However even providing them with those conditions anything happens That male is very fusy 🤣.

Hello everyone.

It's my first time rearing attacus atlas species. I've reared them from egg to adults and after several hatchings I got now a chance to mate them. I thought I was not going to have this opportunity because I got not so many cocoons and They have been hatching in very separated times.

Unfortunately, after making and following the instructions in various YouTube videos on how to pair them manually, I have not been successful. I do not know what is the problem. Starting to think that the male has some problem with his genitals since the female is very receptive I guess. The male is 48 h old.I Tried it yesterday, but was told by a helpful person that it may be too fresh. So, I tried it back today, although no success was achieved.

I'm uploading some pics of the male for you to check it's parts.

Every help is useful.

Thank you very much 🙏🏻

In fact they seem growing very fast. I got some of them on my garden since they were in a bunch of asclepias i bought ?

Thank you very very much. That was a nice and fast reply hehe.

Hello guys.

I was just wondering if there is any species of butterfly / moth which completes its vital cicle fastly, so they can be reared lots of times within a relatively short period of time.

Thanks!

Hello Thomas.

For now, mine seems healthy. I think I just was lucky, since the day after It was hurted It molted. And the wound seem to have dissapeared as it happened.I want to wait and see how does it progress though. I hope it doesn't get worse for It in the future again.

On the other hand, Very happy to read your caterpillar turned okay.

Thank you,

Regards.

It's not a big wound, but still worried. I hope it will heal. I'll keep informed.

And Yeah, I've seen the point. And I don't usually handle them directly. I just take the brands and cut them if necessary. However, I accidently rubbed a brand with other and one caterpillar was in the place where both brands met each other ( Unfortunately).

Thank you for your answer, Kevin.
