Often the eggs will color dark ( 12h before hatch)

Why do they never come to holland

I have no idea in switzerland.
But certainly Adult caterpillars are easy to find, they can eat whole meters of potatoleaves.
So, check the field for missing plants, than go there, and find.
Yellow caterpillars are easy, the brown ones won't be found so fast:P

Hello, i will have some eggs of s. oceletta soon, in the next generetion i want to try to attract wild males.Just for fun, andgetting healthy breed, and i will put some caterpillars back into the wild.
Now i want to know all trics to do this,
I've heard that settings them on a tree at 1,5m height is good enought, and just look the next day.
Doesn't she fly away?
Next, Near my garden is only houses, with some willows, not much, but 2km from my garden is a Area with thousands of willows, is it possible for the males there to find the female in my garden? And , i'm definately sure that they live here, 2 years ago i found a pupating caterpillar, the moth was released in my garden.
So, what do i have to do?
Put here in a cage, and look for males around the cage next day?
Put her on a tree, and see if there is a male mating with her?
In my garden, or near the willows?
Thanks yet

I have got 1 couple in my greenhouse, they fly around the lantana, eat, how old are yours?
I've heard that the pairing should go automatic, and just check your asclepias leaves!
Is handpairing possible?

Maybe it's like brahmaea species, they only need 2-3 months Diapause.
So, cocoons from now, that get placed in a cooler( 0-4 grd) will go into Diapause, after 3 months, slowly raise the temp to 18 grd in 3 weeks.
Try it?

Thank you lukasz, i did this, when i woke up , they were sitting near together, maybe they have mated!!
Feeding insn't very easy right, when i put their tongue in 15% honey solution, they wont do anything, just roll back up.
and putting cage outside, do you get willd males with that?Greetings

Nobody who can help me:(:(?

I think we forget a very important point.
Let the pupae get to the < 24 grd in a week or so.
for example, if they are on 12 grd, and you put them in 25 they can die, or be un fertile.
So, evry day 3-4 grd higher!

Hello people, i have got 1 male, and 1 female of s ligustri.
They are now in my greenhouse, with flowers, and honey water.
But, will they find theirselves, or can i handpair them, or put them in a smaller cage?
And, in the greenhouse is 1 ligustrum plant, will the female lay her eggs on that plabnt, or just evrywere?Grts

I've heard someone's experiences on Pinus strobus.

Wow,that's definately an unusual one.
Suraka is a specie that will mate nearly evry moth.
Just keep the eggs, and hope! -
Today, the male did not fly around the female, but soon i noticed that she was laying eggs.
So, they have mated out of theirselves! -
She is 2 days old, not mated yet.
What sign will she give when she does want to mate?
