Samia cynthia ricini

Just like nearly every other species, you have to take a look at the segments.

When you look from the 'tail' of the pupae, you will see 2 small dots at a male pupae.

After these 2 dots, you find 4 Clear segments, and 1 half segment ( wings are over it)

At female, you will find a stripe, without dots, and only 3 clear segments.

It requires some practise, but when you know it, you can see it in 1 second!

Good luck!
