Welche alternative Futterpflanzen für Papilio alexanor maccabaeus (Israel)?

    Hallo,

Kann mir jemand weiterhelfen bzgl. Futterpflanzen für:
    Papilio alexanor maccabaeus (Isreal)?
:hilfe:

    Vielen Dank im voraus.

    Gruß

    Hi Matthias
You can use all sp. of European Rhuta. I have successfully breed them on Rhuta ve.... I don´t remember full name - small Rhuta with yellow flowers. Anyway. This specie is a bit difficult to breed - problems with copulating, problems with eggs laying and many problems with temperature. They need more hot. Hope, that help.

    Hi Zdenko,

    Thanks for help!

In Isreal they breed them with ferula communis (English: Gaint Fennel???).
But caterpillars eat only flowers and fruits of this plant.

I ordered some adult plants of ferula communis, also foeniculum vulgare for test.
What about temperatures? May can help me, please. So inside house 20C over winter is ok? Or lower, higher temperature? Only have a few experience with some papilio machaon ssp. like britanicus, syriacus and so on (no German specimens!!). Thought it´s easy like machaon, but have realized oposite
