Baysa alcinous foodplant alternative

    Hi there,
I'm desperately running out on foodplant for my caterpillars of Byasa alcinous. I feed them on Aristolochia clematis at the moment, but autumn hit them hard and I think I have about 1 week of foodplant left (poor quality :/) and that won't be enough for them to pupate.

Anybody that knows about a good alternative that is still available at the moment? Maybe some wild stories about unlikely foodplant that I could give a try?
    :hilfe:

    Thank you!

maybe it is too late to suggest that, but I have couple of aristolochia plants growing indoors - their roots instantly gave fresh sprouts when I planted them into pots (I wanted to plant them in my garden, but were too late - winter came unexpectedly early and I decided to keep them home instead of planting them into frozen soil).
if you still have some fairly good plants and there's quite a lot of them, maybe it will be good to try planting some into pots, so you will save leaves they still have from the frost.
sorry if that's not a suggestion you were looking for, I never heard alcinous feeding on something other than aristolochia, so I can't help with alternatives

Thank you for the tip, but it will be too late by then. I've contacted a botanical garden nearby and they have a plant with some leaves left. They told me I could collect the leaves, very greatful for that! According to host-website they are only known to eat Aristolochia.
