gonepteryx rhamni aberration??

DanielK15

I found this beautiful female specimen of gonepteryx rhamni in an old german collection from before ww1.
Is it an aberration? Or maybe the butterfly got dirty after hatching ?
Thanks!
Daniel

Hello,

it looks like a partial / mosaic gynandromorph.

Kind regards,
Julia

Vielen Dank fuer deine Antwort!
Es schaut auch wirklich so aus als wäre eine seite grösser als die andare.

no gynander, a congenital defect during spreading wings of the specimen after hatching.
