I experience the same as you.. I guess they mate not very often and only shortly. I have spotted them mating only 2 times now (adult for over 4 months!).

If you keep them like that there should be no problem! I have the same species and only very rarely spot them mating. I'm sure they are though, and (as well as at my place) it probably happens mostly at night :). Don't worry! The eggs will be fine and a LOT will follow

I have succesfully bred Gonimbrasia tyrrhea on Cherry Laurel. The are 2 different types of this plant that are used a lot. One with light green big leaves and one with dark green smaller narrow leaves. They were only willing to accept the last one (Latin name: Prunus laurocerasus 'Caucasica')
Picture: prunus_laur._caucasica.jpg
Maybe you should succeed with these?

Hallo Toni,
Thanks for the names! I was just wondering the following: I believe you are right about the numbers 8, 9 and 10. I however haven't observed any other Caligo sp in a butterfly garden except for Caligo teucher. Why couldn't it be Caligo teucher and what exactly are the differences between Caligo bellerophon and Caligo brasiliensis? I can't find the differences in my pictures?

Thanks!
1: Heliconus sp. (probably Heliconus hecale)
2: Dryas julia
3: Caligo sp.
4: Morpho sp. (maybe Morpho peleides) -
So far so good! Thanks very much!

Hallo Heiner,
