I'd like to know if there is anyone who can help me with breeding Parnassius apollo and Parnassius tianschanicus. I'm especially new to the hibernation of eggs, so would like to know temperature and time of hibernation. Like would it be better to place them in the refrigerator (1-7 degrees Celsius) or in the freezer (around -15 degrees)?

Hi everyone,
I have some thecla betulae eggs in hibernation at the moment at a temperature of about 5 degrees Celsius.
I keep them in my refrigerator and I was planning to take them out in the first week of April, because I read they hatch around that time in the wild. I only have one problem: I'm going on vacation at the end of April, so then I can't take care of them myself, which I do want. I'm coming back in the first week of May, so do you think I could keep them in hibernation until then? I'm not sure if they'd survive that, so I thought maybe it's better to ask here..

I've received a few helicons caterpillars from a butterfly garden.
I don't know which species and unfortunately, they died.. :crying:
so now I won't know that, unless someone could tell me.
does someone of you know those species??
they were still very small, so it might be hard for you, but thanks for trying at least!

I thought only morpho peleides, but could be others..
I don't think it's morpho peleides, because it has long black tails and black and white stripes on the side.
M. peleides doesn't have that.
Possibly something else then a morpho species?
Yeah, I think so. I'm only not sure which species..
