Ian,
Its a small world. I often wonder what would take all the trees in my garden to save me skulking round the local bushes! I had some Automeris species last year that did very well on lantana and even a passion plant. I have a lot of Japanese Acers and might try a few things this year. I can never understand why Oak would be such a good foodplant when the local species probablynever see it.

Ian,
I have had some success with D Simla and S Pyri on ornamental cherry. I reckon there will be a few more and anything is worth a try.

fernando,
I have had some luck with Eucalyptus with final instar Regalis larvae. Maybe it's worth a try?

Thanks Heinz.

Any help appreciated,
I have a few nearly full grown Regalis larvae but they have just about stripped my two small Liquidamber trees. I have tried to move a couple onto ash and privet but they are not happy on this. It looks like they will take Eucalyptes but would they thrive on it? Are there any other alternatives?
Many thanks

All,
this is the first time i have had Eupackardia Calleta and i have observed males having multiple pairings, at least 2 and occasionally 3!!
Will these be fertile?Many thanks

Thanks Bernhard,
i recieved the pupae about 4 months ago, 1 hatched immediately but due to the cold in my conservatory it failed even to inflate its wings. Guess its just going to be a long wait!Michael
