My maackii's are pupating now. Do they Always diapause as pupae or will they emerge and have a second brood this year? If they do, what can I feed the butterflies?

Some weeks ago I got eggs and was told they were Attacus atlas eggs. But I cannot remember the yellow spots on the head from earlier broods. Could this be another species?

Some cats started feeding on rose, they didn't touch the rhodo yet.

My Trabala vishnou cats hatched 2 days ago, I fed them Rubus. But they haven't start feeding till now. Should I try another foodplant (I could buy some Eucalyptus) or is it normal for this species to start feeding after a few days?

Entschuldigung, ich habe mich geirrt. Ich habe jetzt nur Antherina suraka Raupen und die fressen Kirschlorbeer. Meine pernyi Raupen sind noch nicht geschlüpft also ich weiß nich ob die Kirschlorbeer annehmen. Ich werde es aber versuchen.

Die Kokons müssen nicht überwintern, ich habe jetzt auch wieder Raupen. Sie fressen sehr gut Kirschlorbeer. Ich würde die Kokons aufhängen

Ich haben einen zweiten, alten, Kühlschrank im Keller

Wärend der Verpuppung waren die Puppen im Wohnzimmer, also warm. Hast du eine Ahnung was ich jetzt machen könnte; wieder warm stelle oder gerade kälter? Sie sind noch im Kühlschrank und ich gehe sehr oft kontrolieren.

Ich hatte meine Citheronia regalis Puppen zur Überwinterung im Kühlschrank stehen (seit ca. 2 wochen). Heute Morgen is aber ein Falter geschlüpft. Sollte ich die anderen Puppen jetzt auch warm stellen? Es is 13 Grad im Kühlschrank. Ist das zu warm und sollte ich es kälter machen und die Puppen im Kühlschrank lassen? Ich bitte um Hilfe und freue mich auf jede Antwort.

Ich habe sie auf Birke gefunden, im Wald. Sie bewegen ganz heftig mit dem Unterleib wenn sie gestört werden.

Hier sind auch vliele eingegangen. Ich finde die Kierfernadel auch sehr trocken. Deshalb versuche ich es jetzt mit Lärche und das geht viel besser. Ich sprühe jeden tag, aber nur ganz leicht.

I've opened one cocoon with a nail scissor. I opened it at the side because this was the thinnest part of the cocoon. First I made a small cut in the middle, then opened it to both sides. Because the pupa was moving a lot and I didn't want to stress it out too much, I decided to leave it and don't get it out of the cocoon.

How can I open cocoons without damaging the pupae? I have 24 A. Dubernardi cocoons and I would like to know if I can see how many males/females I have.
