Cricula trifenestrata - mating duration

    Hello,
2 pairs (2 males + 2 females) of Cricula trifenestrata emerged in last days. One of the two females (2 days old) started to lay eggs last evening, though I didn't see any mating during the previous evening and at late night. The other female is still calling night and part of the day by extruding her scent gland.
It's possible th first female pair very briefly? I read this species usually pair at night and still remain in copula till òate morning.
But i experienced a case of short pairing with a species which usual has a long mating (Rothschildia aurota), so maybe I can expect a similar case.

    I had this specie too.

What i found, was a close position of male and female in the mourning, their mating time is around 4-6 hours in the mourning.

When a female lays more than 20 eggs in 1 night, you can say they are fertilized ( most of the time)

When females are not fertilized, they will lay up to 10-15 eggs in a night, and will be calling all the time!

This is not the most easy specie to mate, but just be lucky!

    good luck!
