Collection Protection

:hilfe: I'm very sorry members, but I don't speak German...
with that said, can anyone tell me what you are using now to protect your collections from dermestid beetles? We had a product here in the U.S called No Pest Strips, which we cut into 3cm pieces and placed in cabinet drawers. It is no longer manufactured, and a more lethal, not-safe-for-in-home- use product in its place. Any help would be appreciated!!
    Thanks

I most boxes don't use any Protection against dermestid beetles or other pests. If anything is obvious I put the boxes into the freezer for 48 to 72 hours and never had any Problems with that way.

In some boxes I use camphor, because I don't like it poisonous. Any poison is comming back to you sooner or later. That's why.

I never had any Problems, but maybe vecause I do use boxes for quarantine. Means any beetle I do collected for my collection, and any beetle I get in exchange or as present I first put into that box and put it into the freezer for 48 to 72 hours. That keeps your collection protected very well.

    Best regards
    Klaas
