Setina ramosa ramosa ?

  • ANZEIGE

    Hi Jean Marc,

    this is Setina aurita.

Since the 1980s there is a big discussion about the ssp. of Setina aurita and Setina irrorella, especially for the reason of the common hybridisation between these 2 species. As far as I know there is not only one accepted ssp. of S. aurita at the moment (following the Fauna Europaea). If it should be a ssp. then more than likely Setina aurita teriolensis. By the way, all the populations of S. aurita are not such isolated that there can´t be a gene-transfer within the populations. So it is more than doubtful if ssp. of S. aurita should be entitled.

    Regards
    Thomas
