I didnt really find what I was looking for when I searched on ACTIAS, and I would like to know if this Samia is sure. I bought it as Samia canningi, but is it canningi or some other sp/hybrid?
Beat regards Jimmie
Hi Jimmie,
for me looks like a Samia ricini a domesticated Samia hybrid. S. canninigii is not so dark in color and also don't have such a white abdomen.
Below a picture from Samia ricini in Thailand and a Website with a rearing report for S. ricini (they look like your's)
Samia ricini — “Eri silkmoth” | Welcome, visitor!
Greetings
Thomas
I like to show you the difference between S. canningii and S. ricini so the picture from me is from S. canningii in Thailand not S. ricini.
Was only a small mistake and I see saw it too late
