Half pupated samia Cynthia ricini

    Hi
I'm sorry for yet another question, I hope this is the last one
I have now for 2 days 2 half pupated caterpillars. Their head is still caterpillar, but their body is à pupae already.
They are still alive, because they move when I touch them carefully.
    They hadn't made a cocoon.
The other caterpillars have made cocoons 2 weeks ago.
I want to hang the other cocoons, but I don't know if they are still prepupae.
Goes the development slower when a caterpillar doesn't spin a cocoon?
Why have they pupated only half?
Have they only pupated half because they haven't spun a cocoon?
And the most important, are the pupae in the cocoons half pupated too?
    Regards
    Christiaan

I think, nobody could answer you really.

No, thats not sure. You should wait. And if they have spun a correct cocoon, I´m sure the pupae will be correct also.

They will die in a few weeks. They aren´t able to transform into a moth.
    sorry.

    Best regards
