Hi
I'm not sure on the exact species, but if the young bark is very fibrous and aromatic it fits all the criteria in leaf and branch structure to be a Annonaceae.
If it isn't though you can always use magnolias as I've heard that they can also work, although I've not tried them personally.
Hope this helps,
Chris
Maybe it could also be a Diospyros species.
Kind regards
Sascha
Thanks I’ve been looking for annonaceae to feed to carnegia mirabilis caterpillars I’m receiving so this helps in my search
it is Camellia japonica, Regard Kurt
Regi with all due respect that plant look nothing like the one I put in the picture the leafs are to small and pointed also that tree doesn’t have any flowers.
Maybe American Persimmon (Diospyros virginiana) Diospyros virginiana
To me it looks like a magnolia.
By the way, you propably know that you can use custard apple seeds for your purposes?
What butterflies do you breed?
Kind regards
