    Hello everyone. it is the first time that I write in the forum. i am breeding arctia caja. they have been eating large quantities of ... everything for a month now. I keep them in the house warm (20 ° and more). I know they are wintering like caterpillars but they are always active. I wanted to know if there is a method to convince them to build the cocoon.     Six weeks are not long and the caterpillars can be 7-8 cm long. As soon as the caterpillars eat less and are only walking, they look for a place to pupate. This phase lasts 2-3 days. Then move the caterpillars into larger containers and create spaces to spin them. E.g. empty egg cartons etc. so that the caterpillars do not interfere with each other when spinning.
